Terminal Block Marking Systems
Terminal block marking tags are used to identify the electrical wiring circuit or the function of the terminal block. Finding a specific terminal block can be a daunting task when there are thousands of them in a control cabinet! Clearly marking each of the terminal blocks in an orderly manner can greatly reduce both installation and maintenance costs.
Weidmuller's multitude of different terminal block markers enable users to solve virtually every labelling task of all types of wire and cable connectors. Whether multi-character labelling, ready-to-use markers with standard printing or individual, custom printed markers, whether white or colored or group designations at terminals, the comprehensive range of Weidmuller products solves every marking task simply, quickly and clearly.
The two most common type of terminal block marking tags are DEKAFIX and the MultiCard.
The DEKAFIX is a card that contains 5 strips of 10 terminal block marking tabs. The DEK Multicard is a strip of pre-printed tags with sequential numbers that can be snapped into receiving slots on the terminal blocks. This common style of Weidmuller marking tag (pictured right) is called DEKAFIX. There are 50 tags on a card and are available in 5mm, 6mm, and 6.5mm widths with Horizontal or Vertical orientation. Vertical orientation is used when the terminal block rails are mounted vertically in the cabinet. Horizontal terminal block tag orientation is used when the rail is mounted horizontally.
Pre-printed standard DEKAFIX tags are marked 1-50, 51-100, etc. and are also available marked 1-10 (5 times), 11-20 (5 times), etc. Specialty Control Systems offers custom printing services for these marking tags. Printing on these types of tags is limited to 3 characters. |

The MultiCard is a larger card that is available in several styles: DEK, WS and ZS. The DEK MultiCard contains multiple strips similar to the DEKAFIX marking system. The WS and ZS MultiCards contain larger tags that install individually rather than in strips and, due to their larger size, can support more character printing on each tag. The WS MultiCard tags are specifically designed for W-Series terminal blocks but may be used in other applications. The ZS MultiCard tags are specifically designed for the Z-Series terminal blocks.

Weidmuller's universal marker for SAK-Series, W-Series, Z-Series, P-Series and I-Series terminal blocks as well as for other connectors and electronic devices.
DEK Pre-Printed Marking Cards
The Dekafix marker is the universal marker for terminals and plug-in connectors as well as electronic modules from the Weidmuller product range. DEK Marking Cards provide a wide range of standard printing options. The system is particularly suitable for short sequences of numbers and is also available with customer specified custom printing.

The DEK marking system, also available in MultiCard format is the universal marker for all kinds of connectors and also electronic modules from the Weidmuller product offering. The blank DEK marker is ideal for flexible, fast printing at your site with Weidmuller's innovative PrintJet marker/printer system.
WS Marking System - W-Series Markers
WS markers are designed specifically for the W-Series terminal blocks. But, thanks to their system compatibility, WS markes can also be used with the I-Series, Z-Series, and P-Series terminal blocks. The generous size of these markers permit longer character strings and multiple-line printing.
WS markers are ideal for labelling where long, individual character strings are required to accurately label the terminal blocks for ready identification. WS markers are printed using the PrintJet marking tag custom printing system.
With the WS system, terminal blocks with long numerical sequences can be marked quickly. The large marking surface provides ample space for marking (including marking by hand if necessary). The WS system's large surface connector marker is designed so that it can be marked with an automatic marking system as well as by hand.
Strip Mounting -- Mounting in rows is intended for the quick marking of Weidmuller terminations/plug connectors and electronic components. Up to seven characters per tag are printed in one operation. If only a few, individual markings are required, it is possible to purchase ready-to-use WS terminal block marking tags with pre-printed numeric sequences. WS tags with individual print can be used for long numerical sequences. The result is ready-to-use tags which save time during marking and still offer all the advantages of individual marking.
ZS Marking System - Z-Series Markers
ZS markers - in the proven MultiCard format - were specially developed for the Z-Series terminal blocks. They provide users with a large labelling area. Their unique hinged form means that cross-connectors, for example, are still readily accessible without having to remove the marker. Markers can be clipped on in strips to guarantee fast, accurate installation. But, individual markers are easily separated.
